You might remember our first post about WE WOOD, but since then the brand has grown so much and mastered their craft even more. The watches above are a part of their latest collection. As you know, the majority of the watches are made from 100% natural wood, including the case, band and face. The two watches are the Chrono and the Date watch, which are my two current favorites from WE WOOD.
These should be available now at all WE WOOD suppliers as well as their website. Check it out asap!
Gorillaz is a band that I’ve always been a huge fan of and respected their work. With their 10-year anniversary album coming out soon, they’ve reach out to Converse and Jamie Hewlett to put together a dope ass pair of Chucks.
These Chucks have a nice camo design. The best part, to me, is that it is unique. A lot of these camo designs are becoming overused and kind of lame, but this pattern really does it for me. Not all of the shoe details are out yet, but they will be released closer to the shoe’s December release. Get ready for these to hit the Converse shops in about a month!
The duckboot is making it’s way back to relevance in the fashion industry and Converse wastes no time to take their model to the next level. They take the classic “Chuck Taylor” All Star and give it the duckboot treatment, blending the two styles flawlessly.
You’ve got some high quality leather and canvas blends that are rumored to be waterproof, as well as vulcanized midsoles and ventilation holes that stand out as the highlights of the shoe. The brown leather ankle patch also adds some great detail while the white laces offset the sneakers, making them “not-too-duckboot-y.”
These shoes are currently available at the Converse online store and select retailers nationwide.
Basquiat artwork on a basketball sneaker? I dig that.
Reebok recently launched the newest design from the Basquiat Affili’Art Collection. Their classic Omni Pump Lite model is the shoe they decided to work with for the collaboration.
The shoe has monotone uppers that are made from leather, patent leather and mesh. Basquiat’s name and logo replaces most of the Reebok logos in the form of thick embroidery. To bring it all together, there is an all over print of Basquiat’s three point crown logo on the white leather.
These are very limited, so act fast.
If I was as cynical as some, I could make the claim that this is the perfect theme for a shoe. The most overrated NBA player of our time designs his shoe after the most overrated movie of our time. I could go that route because really once you’ve seen a gangster movie, you’ve seen them all. I could go that route because LeBron is 7 years into his career with no rings and limited clutch performances. Why is the urban culture so attracted to Scarface? His progressively gets worse until he dies, and we idolize that? Before I continue to piss off readers that adore LeBron and/or think Scarface is a classic motion picture, let me get to the point: the shoes.
The shoes are dope! Bet you didn’t expect me to say that after I just ripped LBJ and Scarface like that, did ya? Well, I said I wasn’t going to go that route.
I really do like these. The black/white/red/silver is always a perfect combo. This shoe just works for me. I could hoop in this or I could rock them to an event where I want to look fly. They have that kind of versatility that a lot of basketball shoes, especially LeBrons, don’t have. In case you haven’t noticed, the shoes match the movie poster nicely and also go along with the fact that LeBron is in Miami now, just like Tony Montana was in Scarface.
Pick these up at Marquee Sole because, as usual, they got them first!
Believe it or not, this is the first time these shoes have ever been re-released. These are the Adidas Crazy 8’s that Kobe Bryant wore in the 1998 All-Star game. What makes them so special? The 1998 All-Star game was Kobe Bryant’s first All-Star selection and in that game he guarded his idol, Michael Jordan. Kobe was only 19, making him the youngest NBA All-Star in the league’s history.
These are dope. They have a classic black and white colorway with traditional Lakers colors and details throughout the shoe. You can get these here for a pretty affordable 100 bucks!
These are brilliant. Craig Redman recently delivered these great portraits at Slam Jam this year. This is actually a combination of two different collections by Redman, The Guise and The Protagonist.
In The Guise, you’ll find Terry Richardson, Kanye West, LeBron James, Lady Gaga and The Pope standing out among the rest of the popular portraits. This collection is full of highly recognizable pop culture icons.
In the other collection you’ll find the elites of the fashion world. You’ll see Dolce & Gabana, The Missonis, Armani and Riccardo Tisci standing out as the fan favorites. The remainder of the portraits are all very well-known designers.
Both collections are very unique and creative. I will definitely be looking into more of Redman’s work in the future.
