Gorillaz is a band that I’ve always been a huge fan of and respected their work. With their 10-year anniversary album coming out soon, they’ve reach out to Converse and Jamie Hewlett to put together a dope ass pair of Chucks.
These Chucks have a nice camo design. The best part, to me, is that it is unique. A lot of these camo designs are becoming overused and kind of lame, but this pattern really does it for me. Not all of the shoe details are out yet, but they will be released closer to the shoe’s December release. Get ready for these to hit the Converse shops in about a month!
The duckboot is making it’s way back to relevance in the fashion industry and Converse wastes no time to take their model to the next level. They take the classic “Chuck Taylor” All Star and give it the duckboot treatment, blending the two styles flawlessly.
You’ve got some high quality leather and canvas blends that are rumored to be waterproof, as well as vulcanized midsoles and ventilation holes that stand out as the highlights of the shoe. The brown leather ankle patch also adds some great detail while the white laces offset the sneakers, making them “not-too-duckboot-y.”
These shoes are currently available at the Converse online store and select retailers nationwide.
Converse just released the Straight Shooter Spec Hi sneaker from its limited First String Collection. These come in black and burgundy, and are constructed of a nice mix of premium leather and canvas. Converse never disappoints. They are classy and classic.
Both sneakers are now in stock at Foot Patrol.
Converse Japan plans to launch a huge collection of dope Chucks this October and recently a sneak peek of the collection was brought to my attention. What you see above it the All Star Hunting Collection. The collection mixes very reserved, classic looks with some pretty creative, exotic designs.
The Heavy-Canvas Hi and OX, Hunting-Jacket Hi and OX are the more conservative pairs of Chucks. The Hunting-Print Hi, Hunter-Camo Hi, Hounder Hi and ML-Boots Guard Shin-Hi are the ones that catch your eye a little more. I’m unsure of the release date and where these will be sold in the US, but count on these to hit the stores soon and be available online if all else fails.
You don’t need to be a genius to identify the famous Italian luxury label Missoni and it takes even less fashion insight to identify one of the most famous shoes ever, the Chuck Taylor’s by Converse. Put them together and this is what you have. Greatness.
Missoni is famous for their colorful patterned knitwear and most recently made news for their partnership with Target that brought luxury fashion to consumers at affordable prices. Now, they’ve linked up with Converse to hopefully create an even bigger buzz for themselves and prove that high-fashion doesn’t always have to be high-priced.
The limited edition collection will consist of two colorways of the Chuck Taylor Hi, one in a red, striped design and another in a blue, zig-zag design.
It looks like Hanon will have them for sale starting October 1st! Grab them before it’s too late, as Target’s Missoni collection barely lasted 24 hours.
Tweed is back for the Fall.
Feast your eyes on the Tweed Pack, made of Converse Chuck Taylor All Star, in both High and Low versions. In this pack, there are 2 classes of tweed. You’ve got the traditional, in earthy brown and the herringbone pattern. in heather grey. Each shoe is finished with leather, a Chuck Taylor patch, matching color piping, and antique brass eyelets.
These are now on sale at CONVERSE Japan retail locations and international availability in the coming months!
